Intermittent Starting Problems. Asked by RRising Dec 28, 2014 at 01:15 PM about the 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4WD. Question type: Maintenance & Repair. Sport with 93000 miles recently developed an intermittent starting problemwill start and run fine and all of a sudden will crank but won't start but after a few tries and it sets for a minute

Engine stalls on warm start (intermittent) 2002 SE Wagon 16v zetec, auto, aftermarket air filter. When the car sets for 15-20 minutes after reaching operating temperature she will not maintain idle and will stall. The engine will run as long as the accelerator is slightly depressed to maintain RPM and the car can be operated in this way at The ABS light turns on rather randomly. Sometimes it stays off for months. Sometimes it turns on and of multiple times per day. It's a Ford Focus 1.8 tdci from 2004, 100 HP. I did check the following: brake fluid level and cap checked (replaced with one from another car to see if the problem disappears, it didn't) Trying again it will sometimes start immediately, and other times it takes several goes. Check that you battery terminals are clean and tight and the earths are good. A load test of the battery will eliminate or point to the battery or the alternator not charging. Posted March 11, 2014. Firstly i hate doing this, ive just signed on to your forum and having to make my first post a question. my dad's 2002 1.25 Fiesta LX has a annoying intermittent starting fault, 2 week's ago it first started doing this: totally dead on the turn of the key, all electric's worked fine & the battery show's enough volt's Our 2012 Ford Focus would often have the non-starting issue shown in this video. Another symptom was that the remotes wouldn't always lock the doors on the The most common causes that hinders normal starting operation of your Focus are dead 12v battery, corrosion on battery terminals, and dead key fob battery. However, bad alternator, clogged fuel filter, broken starter, blown fuse, empty gas tank, immobilizer error, or any fault in the electrical system can also cause your vehicle not to start. 1.

1999 Ford Explorer. December 26, 2014. #1. I have a 99 Explorer (v6 SOHC) that's having intermittent starting problems. It will always crank but sometimes (i'd say 50/50 chance) not start. I think it may be the fuel pump since i'll turn the key and sometimes hear the pump prime and the car will fire up. Other times I won't hear the pump prime Posted February 9. Have a look at the rain sensor on your screen. If it is clear and clean and you can see it well then change the Wiper Blades and set your sensitivity to one notch from the top. If the sensor has gone white and is not see through, you need to replace the sensor. Quote.
